Who is Thomas Ritter?
Thomas is a designer/software developer/perfectionist. Since he first
laid his hands on a computer he has not stopped creating new things which
matter for him. Starting with a Commodore 64 in his early childhood he still
loves to explore new things whether it is technology, economics or culture.
Thomas is most known for his amateur level design work for a game called half-life
developed by
Valve software. He did levels for various half-life
modifications and
nearly entered the software games industry. In the end he decided
against it and is now heavily involved in software engineering especially working with products from SAP.
Since 2004 his main research interest is how development teams can master the growing complexity of developing and maintaining today's business software while staying agile and producing the most business value for their customers. He is passionate about educating his peers about agile development processes like XP or SCRUM and the development techniques which come with them.
In 2006, after living in Germany for more than 24 years he decided to go to Sydney, Australia
and studied towards a Master of Information Technology which he finished in 2007. He also has a diploma in Computer Science and Economics which
he got awarded in 2004 in Germany.
In the end of 2007 he joined
SAP AG.
